This Maya lesson was the start of a set-up for oncoming lessons.
We did a bit of character design with monsters, randomly picking the amount of legs, arms, and eyes they would have and with a randomly picked character theme from the 80s, my designs had two legs, four arms, and three eyes with the theme cheerleader.
Our first task was to design eight different monsters using basic shapes and to think more about the silhouette of them.
After we had done that, we had to look around the room at others designs and offer input as to which we preferred and some reason why, and then we had to pick three of our own designs to develop a bit further.
Lastly we had another look around each others work, and then we had to pick one of our three designs to develop even further so we will be able to take it into Illustrator in another lesson, and then into Maya to model.
I would post the design I picked from the last set, but I want to do a nice before and after comparison once it's been drawn in Illustrator.
I apologise about the bits of coasters you can see on the sides of the images, neither pictures would stay flat.
